Mind on the Media is a 501(c)3, independent, tax exempt non-profit organization.

We raise public awareness about the negative effects of sexist images in the media. Working with teens, pre-teens, parents and teachers we run the Turn Beauty Inside Out campaign every May.

    Hi Mind on the Media,
    I work at The Women’s Center in Chapel Hill, NC where we partner with women and girls to build their knowledge, skills and confidence to become self-sufficient. We came across your website many years ago and try to incorporate your action steps in our adolescent programming which focuses on empowerment and media literacy. The participants created a video last year celebrating their inner beauty for TBIO day and their final project of the year. Is there a place on your website that you could post projecis that you inspired? We’d like to distsribute it a little more for this year’s TBIO day. They are so proud of their work :) If you would like I can email you a MPEG version.
